For many Deus Ex fans, myself included, the release of The Fall for iOS last summer stung quite a bit. This is a series, after all, that up to this point revolved around the PC as a platform, but here, fans who wanted to play what’s in effect a side-game to Human Revolution had no choice but to play it on an iPhone or iPad. Blech. The game released for Android last month, but that still doesn’t negate the fact that gamers have had to play the game on a freaking mobile device.
Well, as the post title suggests, there’s some good news for those fans I described above: The game is en route to the PC. I’m unsure how this was discovered ultimately, but I found out about it thanks to Reddit user DevinWatson who links to a handful of assets hosted on official Steam servers, including this screenshot:
Up to this point, Eidos Montreal has remained mum on a PC version (as far as I’m aware, at least), so there’s no telling when the game will drop. But that said, the fact that assets are already on Steam servers means it could be coming sooner than later, and I, for one, cannot wait. Being that it’s a mobile game at its heart, I am not expecting a gameplay experience on par with Human Revolution, but that doesn’t matter. This is Deus Ex, and like many fans, I’ll take what’s available.
