In this industry, we see quite a few press releases on any given day. One that caught our eye this morning was the announcement that Kingston has acquired the USB technology and assets of IronKey from Imation. No strangers to encrypted USB flash drives, Kingston has had its own offerings for over 10 years in the form of its DataTraveler. Kingston’s acquisition provides customers with a more comprehensive portfolio of products and services, and demonstrates Kingston’s commitment as a global leader in trusted encrypted solutions for mobile data.
To ensure a smooth transition from Imation to Kingston, the Fountain Valley, California company looks to assure all parties that there will not be any immediate changes to the way business is transacted by channel partners currently supporting IronKey products.
“The addition and integration of the IronKey brand with our own award-winning line of DataTraveler encrypted USB drives provides a dynamic range of encrypted solutions for customers of all levels who want to protect mobile data,” said Nate Steffens, VP commodity Flash, Kingston. “Having our great partner DataLocker manage both the EMS and SafeConsole platforms is a win for all of our combined customers. We look forward to extending our relationship with DataLocker.”
For anyone looking for more information about this acquisition, more information will be coming during the RSA Conference 2016 in San Francisco, California, February 29 through March 4. Representatives from Kingston will be available for meetings at the DataLocker booth (North Expo #N3134).
