Interested in entering a tech contest that for once awards big prizes, rather than a bunch of little ones? Well, it looks like Kingston has exactly what you’re looking for, but unfortunately, it benefits only those who live in the United States. What makes this contest interesting isn’t the method of entering, but rather the prizes… no product here. Just cold, hard, cash.
The first place winner will walk away with a cool $7,500, second with $5,000 and third with $2,500. Runners-up from 4th – 13th place will each receive $100. This is the first time in a while that I recall a technology company offering up cash prizes in lieu of products, and with this kind of money on the table, this is without question one of the toughest contests to avoid!
How do you enter? The official name is, “How Can a Kingston SSDNow Drive Change Your Life?“, and like it sounds, you’re supposed to give an opinion on how a Kingston SSD can change your life. What aspect of your life would improve with SSD usage? The contest does require a little bit of effort, though. You need to create a video to explain your ideas, and host it on a video site like YouTube. Then you simply head on over to the official contest page and submit your information, and you’ll be entered.
If you enter the contest, feel free to link us to the video as well in our forum thread, as we’d love to check them out! You don’t have to rush with an entry, though, as the contest lasts up until September 20, 2010, and we’ll remind you a couple of weeks in advance to make sure you don’t miss the boat. Good luck to those who enter!
You can base your idea on a real-life situation or use your imagination. Be as creative as possible in developing your idea or story, recording it and bringing it to life as a video. Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges on the criteria of creativity in presenting an idea or story in a video format. Use all the props and graphics necessary to bring your idea to life but keep in mind that the concept of your video will be what’s most important to the judges. If your idea is selected, your concept might be used in future marketing.
