We’re a bit late on posting this, but a brand-new Humble Bundle kicked off a couple of days ago, and so far it’s off to a great start. Much like the previous bundle, this one features a single overarching game, Voxatron, but since publishing, two other games have been added to reward those who pay more than the average.
As the name may suggest, Voxatron is a voxel-based game that has Tron-like gameplay elements. Shoot your way through blocky monsters, destroy things and solve puzzles – what’s not to like? At the current time, the game is still in its alpha stage, so it’s important to not dive in expecting a complete package.
While featuring an alpha as the main game for a bundle might seem a bit odd, it’s actually rather clever. Rather than see the developer go months and months without pre-orders to help fund the game, being able to sell it up front through such a service means that there will be an infusion of cash that will easily help development up through to completion.
A “bundle” wouldn’t be much of a bundle with just a single game, so shortly after this latest offering was posted, Blocks That Matter and The Binding of Isaac were added. They can be had for those who pay more than the average, which at the time of writing is $4.50. Both of these games are good, but together, it makes for one heck of a bundle.
