We’re in the midst of the ‘Ultrabook’ fad, and next up, it’s LG getting in on the action with its X-Note Z330. This is one of the best-looking Ultrabooks I’ve seen to date, with a brushed aluminum finish on top that makes it looks both rugged and beautiful at the same time. It weighs in at just about 2.6 lbs and features a 12-inch screen in lieu of 13-inch that we’ve seen on other Ultrabook models.
For the ultimate in performance, the X-Note Z330 doesn’t just include a fast Intel Core i5 processor, but also a 120GB SSD. These specs combined with Intel’s chipset optimizations allow the notebook to cold boot and reach a usable desktop in a touted 9.9 seconds. Given that even current desktop PCs could do the same in about 25-30s at best, 10 seconds on this notebook is nothing short of impressive.
The battery-life on this Ultrabook isn’t super-impressive at 6 hours, but that should prove sufficient enough given the powerful CPU that is being utilized. The X-Note Z330 is one of the thinner Ultrabooks though at 14.7mm thick (these numbers still blow me away), whereas the bezel on front is only 8mm wide.
As great as this Ultrabook looks, there are a couple of caveats. First, this is being released in South Korea first, so we might not see it on these shores for a while. Second, at 1.7 million Korean Won, the Z330 would start out at $1,500 USD. Ouch.
