Like a smartphone or a number of other mobile devices, Logitech’s Harmony universal remotes are ever-evolving. Years ago, you might have been stuck with whatever hardware support a remote shipped with, but today, Logitech has the ability to add support over time. Today, we see a great example, as Sonos’ wireless HiFi system is now officially supported by the Harmony Ultimate remote and the Harmony Smart Control smartphone app.
With these added integrations we’re creating an even more robust Harmony ecosystem that makes it easier for you to create the optimum home-entertainment experience, including listening to your favorite playlists on Sonos wireless speakers, and setting your Philips Hue lights to the perfect brightness and color for watching a movie.
In addition to this update, Logitech’s also rolled-out support for speech-to-text searching. This solution will prove as reliable as Apple’s Siri or Android’s built-in voice recognition system will allow it to be, as they’re used as the base on their respective platforms. This is a good move, since Logitech doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel given both solutions are quite good.
Logitech will be releasing its Harmony update at some point today. If you’re unsure of how to update, head here.
