It’s beginning to look like Logitech wants to become the Apple of the peripheral world. In what the company calls its greatest brand transformation ever, it’s gone ahead and updated its logo (seen below) and vows to deliver some cutting-edge design going forward. Cutting-edge design that will involve a lot of color.
While Logitech has had a keen eye for design in the past, its brand update represents an even greater focus. It’s hired its first-ever chief designer, Alastair Curtis, to help things along, and has even updated the logo we will see on its products, simply seen as “logi” (effectively what you see above, with the “tech” lobbed off).
“On top of a colorful and bold new look, you’ll start to see and hear the name Logi. The Logi label will appear on our newest product categories, and expect some twists and a few surprises in new categories. (Get ready – the first Logi product is around the corner!)”
(Warning: video has a lot of flashing)
This is an interesting move for the company, and I’m sure it highlights just how different the company will feel down the road. I’m sure many will agree with me in saying that we hope the company doesn’t begin ignoring its gaming line, or trying to “modernize” that, because it’s just fine the way it is.
The next year for Logitech is going to be fun to watch.
