Rewards programs in the PC hardware world are far from uncommon, so it’s a little surprising that ASUS hasn’t had one on offer by this point already. Nonetheless, if you’re a Republic of Gamers fan, and either regularly purchase RoG components or at least lust over them, ASUS’ new “Elite Rewards” (available in the US and Canada) should speak to you.
Like most rewards programs, the more you spend, the more you’re going to benefit from this program, but purchases are not always necessary. ASUS notes that to earn points, you will be able to take advantage of community contests and surveys, and interestingly, even meeting the company at an event like PAX will be enough to pad those collected points.
There are five tiers featured in this program, following the standard bronze/silver/gold/platinum system. Your tier will be entirely based on the amount of points you earn in a given year, and if you’re spendy or crafty enough to earn yourself placement in the highest two, you’ll be guaranteed a free annual gift.
“Hey Rob, you said five tiers, buy only mentioned four???” Ahh, that’s because this is where things get really interesting, or at least very exclusive. The final tier is “diamond”, and if you manage to find yourself there, you’ll be given the chance to obtain exclusive rewards. Getting there won’t be easy: it’s invite-only, so merely spending a lot may not help you. ASUS is clear that diamond is for the “biggest and most loyal ROG fans”.
At the moment, it appears a gaming mouse, beanie, and theme for streaming software is on offer, but that’s clearly just the beginning of things. We’re sure to see this program expand as time goes on, allowing us to all drool over the options those lucky diamond tier folks get their hands on.
