It seems like almost every week, there is some massive security breach somewhere, and this week is no different. According to The Verge, eBay will be asking all of its 112 million members to change their passwords, in light of a newly-discovered database security hole.
The attack took place some time between late February and early March, when hackers got a group of employee log-in credentials, giving them access to the larger database. After the breech, eBay wasn’t aware of the problem until two weeks ago, and even then it took some serious looking to condemn the password database, thus the announcement today.
So, get those passwords changed, and change them often!
