Logitech continues its push to gain more exposure and notoriety in the gaming peripherals space with the debut of its newest Logitech G mouse, the G302 Daedalus Prime MOBA.
The company touts its newest creation as the product of the collaboration of Logitech’s R&D and input from a variety of professional MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) eSports entities. The list of contributors to the G302 Daedalus Prime’s design is long: Team SoloMid, Cloud9, CJ Entus Frost, CJ Entus Blaze, and Invictus Gaming. The ultimate aim of the collaboration is to develop gear designed “to withstand the rigors of the highest tiers of professional eSports gaming.”
Vincent Tucker, director of Logitech gaming, had this to say: “We built the Logitech G302 to meet the performance needs of the best eSports athletes in the world. The G302 is the best mouse for MOBA gameplay combining comfort and durability with some of the most advanced technology available. It withstands the rigors of the highest levels of gaming, and enables extremely fast clicking and precise timing, which is critical, given that a victory or loss can be determined in milliseconds.”
The G302 certainly boasts a feature list that should enable it to meet not just Logitech’s claims, but also the demands of eSports athletes. To wit, it has an exclusive metal spring button tensioning system which improves click responsiveness, enhancing the speed and accuracy of in-game actions. The G302 also incorporates the company’s Delta Zero sensor technology, which delivers what Logitech says is “the most accurate translation of hand movements to on-screen actions currently available.” Allied to very low weight and low friction feet, the G302 is designed to move easily and accurately.
Six programmable buttons are fully customizable, as well, through the excellent LGS (Logitech Gaming Software), so the G302 Daedalus Prime is endowed with superior functionality and adaptability as well as a great physical package.
The G302 Daedalus Prime is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe starting in November 2014. MSRP is $49.99.
