Nintendo’s 3DS handheld has been a hard sell ever since its launch, despite receiving good reviews in the beginning, and has even caused the company to lose a great deal of money. With the holiday season upon us, things have been slowly improving, but with its latest push, Nintendo is hoping that its 3DS will soon be flying off the shelves.
To do this, the company is releasing two different bundles, each featuring an iconic Nintendo character; Mario and Zelda. Mario’s bundle includes a dark red 3DS and the Super Mario 3D Land game, while Zelda’s includes a slick black model with gold game-inspired decoration and a copy of Ocarina of Time 3D, a remake of the original.
I admit, I haven’t had much interest in a 3DS up to this point, but the Zelda bundle is a bit tempting. I think it’ll take a slew of other games to sell me though, since $200 is rather expensive if the only game you have interest in is the one included with the console.
