You might have caught our post earlier that NVIDIA announced compatibility for 4K with Surround (an effective 24.9 megapixels), and to prove that it is in fact possible, the company had a demo of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag running at just that configuration. Interestingly, NVIDIA chose to show-off portrait mode, so instead of 11520×2160, the game was running at 6480×3840. Behold:
Performance-wise, it wasn’t that impressive, though I suspect the fact that all three displays were running at the current 4K standard of 30Hz had something to do with that. Once 60Hz displays become commonplace, it does seem that this kind of gaming will be possible. Unfortunately, we were unable to sneak a peak into the PC to get an understanding of what GPU configuration was in there.
