Hot on the heels of AMD releasing its latest Radeon Pro Enterprise driver, NVIDIA unleashed something for the gamers: Game Ready GeForce 430.64. This driver brings day-one support for Rage 2 and Total War: Three Kingdoms. One of the biggest bullet-points is the fact that Vulkan performance has also improved, representing some big gains in World War Z:
Across the full range of Turing GeForce GPUs, big improvements can be seen at all resolutions, with 1080p being the greatest beneficiary, though in terms of real-world gains, 4K gamers are more likely to appreciate the extra frames. This boost in performance follows gains seen from a previous driver release with Strange Brigade, also a Vulkan-driven game.
You can grab the latest GeForce driver here. As we happen to be overdue for some gaming GPU testing, we plan to evaluate both Rage 2 and Total War: Three Kingdoms for their worth in benchmarking. Total War usually proves to be a grueling test, so we hope for more of the same with this latest release.
