NVIDIA’s 391.01 Game Ready GeForce Driver Improves Performance For FFXV, PUBG

Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition may not be out until next week, but NVIDIA’s wasting no time in delivering a Game Ready driver that will ensure optimal performance at launch. This driver, GeForce 391.01, also enhances performance in PUBG, Vermintide 2, and World of Tanks, so if you play any one of these games, you’ll want to get on upgrading.
With FFXV, it’s no surprise that NVIDIA has made sure driver optimizations were prompt, since the game is loaded with GameWorks features. Those include Flow, HairWorks, ShadowWorks, Turf Effects, and VXAO. For good measure, Ansel and ShadowPlay Highlights support is also piled on, making FFXV of the very few games to support both.
It’s been ages since I last played a Final Fantasy game, but after checking out the official benchmark a couple of weeks ago, I found myself feeling a real pull, despite the benchmark’s flaws. The atmosphere in some of the screenshots looks awesome.
If you’re a PUBG fan, you can expect to see about a 7% improvement in performance with this new driver, which is actually very much appreciated considering how sluggish the game can sometimes feel even on high-end gear. NVIDIA isn’t giving hard numbers on performance gains with WoT and Warhammer: Vermintide 2, but if you play either, you’ll still want to upgrade for the best experience.
