Cluing me into the fact that The Crew 2‘s launch is much closer than I realized, NVIDIA has today released a new Game Ready GeForce driver that tackles performance enhancements for the game before it even gets here. I was a pretty big fan of the original The Crew, having been a Test Drive Unlimited addict before its release, so I’m quite looking forward to what looks to be another awesome open-world racing title.
To be clear, The Crew 2 performance enhancements are for the beta in particular, which runs from May 31st – June 4. A lot more information about the beta can be had here. It doesn’t seem like the beta is super-easy to get into, but as these things go, there are probably easier ways of gaining access if you keep your eyes peeled.
Also in the 397.93 Game Ready release, performance optimizations for the new State of Decay 2 are also included. It’s not entirely clear at this point if either of these games make use of NVIDIA’s technologies, but we do know that Battlefield V will.
This week, NVIDIA announced that it’s the official launch partner for BFV, ensuring that gamers get the best possible performance on GeForce, and get to enjoy some typical GameWorks-type treats, although all we really know is supported at this point is GeForce Experience (ShadowPlay Highlight support seems very likely).
On the other side of the GPU market, NVIDIA’s also released a 397.93 WHQL Quadro driver, which mostly optimizes things for the Windows 10 April Update. NVIDIA recommends those deploying the drivers on a wider scale should wait until the ODE (optimal driver for enterprise) version is released. That driver can be had here.
