NVIDIA’s Battlefield V Game Ready Driver Brings Optimizations, Bug Fixes For GeForce Turing

NVIDIA’s Turing-based GeForce RTX cards are fast, but their launch hasn’t been completely smooth. That’s ignoring the RTX ecosystem of features we can’t even use yet. Fortunately, though, most of the issues anyone has been facing can be fixed in software, and the new GeForce 416.81 Game Ready driver is tackling some of the most notable ones.
Bug fixes don’t constitute a “Game Ready” driver, so even if you’re not experiencing issues, or you have plans to play Battlefield V (available today to Origin Insiders), hop over here to snag the installer and ignore what else I have to say.
On Turing in particular, an issue with the cards drawing a lot of power while using multiple monitors has been fixed, and with the 2080 Ti, an additional blue-screen crash issue has also been taken care of. Similarly, an HEVC playback stuttering issue is fixed on the 2080 Ti, leading us to assume the other two Turing cards do not experience the issue for some reason.
There are many other very specific bug fixes in the list, but NVIDIA also includes an open list of bugs that could still plague users until another release. That includes having your PC slow to a crawl after enabling or disabling SLI on a 2080 or 2080 Ti, desktop lag with a GTX 780, and an odd pink hue appearing after changing the in-game refresh in Battlefield 1 while using HDR.
