If you’re an NVIDIA user who’s planning to pick up Battleborn or delve into the betas for Forza Motorsport 6: APEX, Overwatch, or Paragon, the new 365.10 ‘Game Ready’ driver is meant for you. While three of the four new games covered in this release are in beta, the driver is not: it’s WHQL, so don’t be afraid to update.
Coming with the 365.10 driver is an overview article posted at NVIDIA’s GeForce.com website. The company also highlights some articles relevent to this launch, that have already been posted. Those include a look at Overwatch‘s system requirements, and a look at Paragon. The company also points us to an official Forza Motorsport 6: APEX article which reveals the system requirements. Hint: for 1080/60, you’ll want at least a GTX 970.
Forza Motorsport 6: APEX is one of the most interesting titles of this bunch, as it’s one of the first to be released supporting Microsoft’s new Universal Windows Platform framework. UWP will allow game developers to port their Xbox One games to the PC easier than before, although it’s received some critical reception because as it currently appears, all such games will be made available through the Windows Store exclusively.
If there’s one upside to that downside, it’s that APEX is going to be a feature-rich game without a price tag. It’s set to include some 70 real cars, and 6 environments which can include night and rain variants.
For Overwatch, NVIDIA recommends using a GTX 950 to achieve 1080/60 (Medium Detail), or a 980 Ti to achieve 4K/60 (High Detail). As for Paragon, Epic itself recommends a GTX 980 for ideal gameplay, although its own testing shows that a GTX 970 can deliver 60 FPS at high quality. For “Epic” quality, you’ll want a GeForce GTX 980 or Radeon R9 Fury and above.
