We receive notifications for contests all of the time here at Techgage, but it’s a rare day when one convinces me to write about it. With NVIDIA’s just-launched Ultimate Quest, I don’t think I’ve had the opportunity to write about a competition that was more deserving. It’s clear that NVIDIA put a lot of time and effort (and no doubt $$$) into creating this one, so if you have time to spare, read up.
Ultimate Quest revolves around an upcoming product set to be launched next week, and I’m not lying when I say that even I have no idea what it is. We’re not entirely sure how many people can win this competition, but those lucky few will score a free copy of whatever product it is that’s announced.
Now, for the competition bits. To partake in this “five-day saga”, you’ll need to sign in with your Twitter account. That might sound a little strange, but the reasoning is that you’ll need to take advantage of tweets in order to progress. Admittedly, this is a mechanic that’s going to be best understand after you begin playing, and in general, it might be best that I let NVIDIA take it over from here:
Ultimate Quest is a highly-interactive text adventure written by internationally renowned interactive fiction author Emily Short. Gameplay will take place in a slick online environment that features illustrations by Silvio Aebischer, who’s worked on other titles including Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee and Iron Man 2. The game sends players on a winding trek through a futuristic world full of intrigue and conflict. The challenges are surprising, the images are beautifully-crafted and this is a unique foray into a forward-thinking world of social gameplay.
A new episode in “Ultimate Quest” will unfold on each day from July 18-July 22, the day the product launches. New pieces of the story reveal new ways to interact with the game, including on social media, and solving a variety of unusual and perplexing problems brings the story forward. You need to participate every day in order to win, so get on it.
To access the game, you can head on over to the official website. While the game unfolds, you’ll want to pay attention to the company’s @NVIDIAGeForce Twitter handle for tweets carrying the #UltimateQuest hashtag. Further, you should also follow @Ultimate_Qs, as tips will be revealed as time goes on.
For those wondering, Ultimate Quest cannot be completed until the final day, which is this coming Tuesday.
Good luck to all who enter! Let’s kick off the hype train now by guessing what’s going to be unveiled on Tuesday, shall we? I personally want to say a Tegra K1-based NVIDIA SHIELD, but that’s only because I really, really want one, and me crying for something never made it become a reality before. Could it be an interesting new GPU? GTX 800? A new product series entirely?? Oh, this is going to kill me.
