I’m starting to wonder if the designers at NZXT are reading my mind, because with the launch of the company’s “Sentry Mesh”, another one of my ideas has come to fruition. I’ve often thought that with meshed fronts on many chassis today, a fan controller with a brushed aluminum finish kind of stands out. Well, for those who enjoy some level of congruency with their meshed tower (let’s pretend that ODDs don’t exist for a moment), NZXT’s latest looks to be a potential winner.
Compared to the company’s other Sentry models, the Mesh version is a lot simpler, due to the fact that there is no LED screen (for obvious reasons). Instead of dials or buttons, there are sliders; five in total. These can be adjusted up and down to speed up or slow down individual fans, and overall, it’s a rather elegant solution. Though the front isn’t filled with a billion LEDs like other models, this one does feature a simple blue LED hidden behind the mesh. Hopefully this isn’t the room-filling kind.
According to chief designer at NZXT, Johnny Hou, the “Sentry Mesh is a perfect minimalist solution for gamers who want to customize their airflow, but don’t need a ton of extra features”. And for that minimalist design, and lack of bling features, the Sentry Mesh comes in at a mere $25.
Oh, and did I mention all five channels are 30W each?
Simplicity and functionality at its best, NZXT’s Sentry Mesh Fan Controller stealthily accommodates your case with a black steel mesh front and solid slider controls. Five 30W channels provide more than sufficient capacity for high speed fans to reach their full potential.
