As we discovered in July, OCZ has been hard at work developing its first 100% in-house SSD, thanks to the combined efforts of the three merged companies; OCZ itself, PLX’s UK team and of course, Indilinx. Taking advantage of IDF, OCZ has been flaunting its upcoming SSD to the press, and boy, have our appetites been whetted. This launch, featuring a “Barefoot 3” controller, is going to be one of the most interesting OCZ has ever done – and the company no doubt has a lot riding on it. This could be the launch where OCZ becomes a truly dominant force in the SSD market.
And… that’s about as much information as OCZ has revealed about its upcoming drives. The OCZ screened logos on the MLC NAND are just for show, as they are actually produced by Micron – though final NAND could change prior to the official launch, set to happen in Q4.
