It appears that OnePlus’ latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 3, is selling a little too well in select countries. “Too well” isn’t a bad thing, of course, but when it results in inventory depletion, it’s not great for those who’ve been holding out for one.
On its official forums, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei explains that the response to the OnePlus 3 has been overwhelming, and that it’s become the fastest-selling phone the company’s produced. It’s not hard to understand why – it’s one of the best phones available right now.
The forum post does have some odd wording, though. Carl doesn’t outright say that the phone’s been sold out in certain countries; instead, the company has decided to halt sales to let inventories “replenish”. This drought is expected to last for an entire month, ending on September 12.
The official list of European countries that can’t acquire a OP3 right now are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. Hong Kong is also affected.
OnePlus says that if you’ve ordered a OnePlus 3 already and have a different delivery date than Aug 9 – Sept 12, don’t worry: you’ll still get your phone by the date you see.
