G.SKILL has sent word that overclocker Shamo has managed to set a new record with one of its 4GB DDR4-based Ripjaw 4 modules. Also part of the test platform was Intel’s eight-core 5960X processor and ASUS’ Rampage V Extreme motherboard.
Sticking to just one DIMM, Shamo was able to hit a staggering 2127.8MHz – or DDR4-4255 in spec speak. Unfortunately, it’s not mentioned how much voltage was required to hit these speeds, but we do know that the timings were dialed to 18-18-18-63 – quite impressive given the sky-high frequency.
For those interested, here’s the CPU-Z validation link. As someone who’s struggled to get DDR4-2800 speeds stable, I am in awe of the thought of DDR4-4425.
