“WEB MONITORING company Net Applications reckons use of the Firefox browser is growing, registering a half-per cent increase in market share between January and February this year.
According to the company’s February figures, use of Firefox rose to 6.17 per cent up from 5.59 per cent in January.”

“Performance wise, there’s one thing that stands out from the analysis and observation of P-M’s scaling with nothing more than its base frequency: it’s crying out for core logic to let it breathe and perform to its fullest; there’s definitely plenty of extra performance to be had by pairing P-M with Alviso core logic. There’s also extra performance to be had just by upping the CPU’s bus clock, so the upcoming 200MHz Pentium-Ms, using Alviso, should give very fine performance, comparatively.”

“We have been following the story of pricing and availability of the latest ATI cards for some time now. We have recently learned that the cost to resellers of Radeon X800 and X800 XL cards via distribution is higher than ATI’s suggested retail price. In some cases, this information changes the math on which video card we’d recommend, the ATI or the NVIDIA.”

“ABIT FIRST INTRODUCED its Fatal1ty-branded motherboard line with the Intel 925XE-based Fatal1ty AA8XE. Given the Pentium 4 platform’s comparably poor gaming performance, that probably wasn’t the greatest idea. After all, the Fatal1ty brand squarely targets gamers and enthusiasts who know better than to covet Pentium 4 motherboards.
It seems that Abit now knows better, too. They’ve bolstered the Fatal1ty lineup with the Fatal1ty AN8 motherboard for Athlon 64 processors. With a 939-pin socket, nForce4 Ultra chipset, temperature-controlled OTES cooling, and a loaded uGuru-powered BIOS, the Fatal1ty AN8 could be the ultimate Athlon 64 platform for gamers, overclockers, and enthusiasts. Read on to see if it was worth the wait.”

“Performance from the X800XL was fantastic, quite happily keeping pace with our X850XT PE in many tests, although the highest resolutions and heavy AntiAliasing/Anisotropic filtering did slow it down slightly in comparison.”

“As case fans go, Cooler Master’s Dual Storm certainly has something different to offer – The dual fan capabilities of the part give both the ability to move a lot of air and redundancy in the case of one of the fans failing. Add in to that the fancy styling and blue LED, and this may be something that will tickle the fancy of some users.”

“A good quality TV-tuner seems to be hard to find these days. With so many options on the market it is hard to pick a winner as it were. ATI seem to have released a very solid TV-tuner card with the TV Wonder Elite. Video quality was excellent. The high quality comb filters and noise reduction built into the Theater 550 Pro definitely shine in the screenshots.”
Purple PCB! I haven’t seen Purple PCB since my first Soltek board! Check out this great review at Viper Lair.

“Swiftech has been one of the most respected names for years. They have expanded from offering only blocks to complete setups. Today, we are concentrating on one piece of that system: the Northbridge cooler. In most cases, the Northbridge cooler would be an optional component. Instead of sitting on an i875, nForce3, or some other chipset, we’re going to place it on top of an Intel Pentium M processor. If this block can handle the output from a full processor, imagine the cooling it would achieve for your motherboard chipset.”

I missed it.. but it looks like Google had one cool feature up it’s sleeve, and now it’s gone.
“Google has unceremoniously, and without comment, yanked its latest labs “project” after less than twenty four hours. In ‘Google X’ a software engineer had replaced the main text navigation bar on the Google home page with a Mac OS X-style dock. A row of eight icons zoomed and shrank as the mouse hovered over them, the row itself shuffling to make room for the expansion – exactly like Mac OS X’s dock.”

If you want to know more about Cell Microprocessors, check out the article at AnandTech.
“As microprocessors became more powerful, the software followed – multitasking environments were born. The vast majority of computer users, however, were still focused on single application usage, so microprocessor development continued to focus on single-threaded performance (single application, single task performance).”

Wired posted an article today with a Blind Gamer. This is something I have not thought about that much before.. but wow.. it’s definately unqiue.
“Michael Feir is an avid gamer. He spent so much time playing games in college he created his own online gaming magazine. But Feir doesn’t play the best-selling games and has never seen World of Warcraft — he’s blind.”

“The EVGA e-GeForce 6200 TC Video Card is based on the NVIDIA NV44 Chip and comes with 64MB of DDR memory. The TC stands for TurboCache which essentially means it takes system memory automatically for a total of 256MB. While this is certainly not a product for the hardcore gamer it does play all the latest games. It would be an excellent inexpensive quality product for a HTPC. Watch the Video to find out more…”
