Looking forward to Far Cry 5 but don’t currently have a PC worth playing it on? Well, AMD wants you to kill two birds with one wallet: buy an AMD-infused PC, and a free copy of Ubisoft’s latest FPS will be yours. And, believe me, it’s one that’s going to be worth playing.
Last week, I had the opportunity to play the game for a couple of hours at a preview event, at 4K resolution, with a Vega 64. I can attest that the experience was smooth, and as for the game itself? I’ll be talking more about it soon, and may just have some 4K/60 footage for you to ogle over.
As of the time of writing, these system builders officially support this promotion:
- AVADirect
- CyberPower PC
- Cybertron PC
- Digital Storm
- Extreme PC
- Falcon NW
- IBuyPower
- Maingear
- OriginPC
- Puget Systems
- Velocity Micro
- Xidax
- Xotic
The reason AMD is promoting Far Cry 5 goes beyond it being a genuinely good game. With its RX Vega GPU, rapid packed math improves physics and compute calculations, while shader intrinsics allows developers to get even closer to the metal with some calls to improve overall performance. FreeSync 2 is also officially supported, as well as HDR.
Once you purchase a system from one of the above builders, you’ll be given a code that you can claim here. If it’s important to note, this is for the standard version of the game, so if you wind up getting sucked in, you’ll want to be prepared to shell out for the post-launch DLC.
