Release the Kraken!
Gaming giant Razer has done that twice already in the recent past, with its Kraken Pro and Kraken 7.1 gaming headsets – now it’s set to do so again with the Kraken Forged Edition.
Featuring dynamic, custom-tuned 40mm neodymium magnet drivers for optimum bass output, Razer says the Forged Edition of its Kraken gaming headset is “forged for sonic perfection,” and is said to produce a sound signature that’s great for both music and for gaming.
Razer claims that its newest Kraken combines comfort and versatility. Plush leatherette ear cushions line the ear cups, and the fully adjustable headband conspire to maximize user comfort. The Kraken Forged Edition is a foldable headset and comes with a hard carrying case, which means you can take them anywhere without worry of damage. The headset comes with a pair of swappable cables, one of which features an in-line microphone; this endows it with the versatility for use in gaming and for music.
Aircraft-grade aluminum, finished in a brushed-metal texture, is this Kraken’s signature feature. The use of aluminum not only makes it look great, but it should also ensure that the headset is built to last.
“These are the best headphones on the market for both music and gaming, period,” Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director Min-Liang Tan says. “We’ve made some incredible audio products in our time, and I’m proud to say that we have taken another huge step forward in terms of audio quality in a pair of headphones with phenomenal fit and finish.“
The Kraken Forged Edition is available now (December 2013). MSRP is $299.99.
