If you’ve been holding out on picking up one of Razer’s sleek Blade notebooks because an update seemed imminent, well, your wait is over. Today, the company has announced that it’s pushed some substantial updates to its thin 14-inch gaming notebook, with a fifth-gen Intel Core processor making an introduction, as well as NVIDIA’s GTX 970M graphics card.
Razer says that the Intel Core i7-4720HQ quad-core it packs into its latest Blade is typically reserved for larger notebooks, and clocked at up to 3.6GHz, it’s a real powerhouse. Graphics duties, as mentioned, are handled by NVIDIA’s high-end GTX 970M, which is equipped with 3GB of GDDR5. Another highlight is its 14-inch display, which boasts a resolution of 3200×1800, as well as touch capabilities.
Other specs include 16GB of DDR3L-1600 memory, SSD options ranging from 128~512GB, Intel 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3x USB 3.0 ports, HDMI 1.4a, and a built-in 70Wh battery. This latest Blade iteration weighs the exact same as the last, 4.47lbs.
With pricing starting at $2,199, the new Razer Blade is available now from Razer’s online store, and Microsoft’s stores on February 16th.
