System builders have long known the Thermaltake name. As different companies have entered and/or departed the industry, Thermaltake has remained a constant. With its longevity, we’ve come to expect some products that highlight the company’s ability to think outside of the box. Announced this week, the Core X5 and Core X5 Riing Edition (not a typo) cube chassis are its latest offerings in the Core lineup of computer cases.
With its, ahem… core feature, Thermaltake provides an expandable system that allows builders to upgrade their case modularly. One feature that sets the Core X5 apart from a lot of the competition is that fact that you can stack another X5 on top for added space to use however you see fit. The Riing Edition comes with a pair of 140mm green Riing fans pre-installed.
One core feature of the X5 chassis is the concept of isolated chambers. Dividing the chassis into two separate and distinct areas, Thermaltake has designed the top chamber for superior cooling performance and the bottom chamber for drives and your power supply. Keeping with the theme of modular, the drive bays are all removable on the X5 as well. If you choose to throw as many drives as possible into the X5, seven is the magic number.
While we currently know the X5 and X5 Riing Edition features, Thermaltake has not yet released a price or date of availability.
