One thing that Samsung has certainly been missing when you compare it to its heaviest competition – Apple – is the extreme lack of brick and mortar stores. The South Korean tech giant has bold plans to change this however, with the addition of 1,400 US locations and an increased presence in Europe and Canada.
Last spring, Samsung announced it plans to launch mini stores in Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile locations across America. Samsung said that it would operate these “Samsung Experience” shops for three years, and after that time evaluate the arrangement with Best Buy.
In Europe, Samsung will open 75 or more of its own retail stores in the next few months, up from the current count of 31. Canada can expect 90 of the “store in store” kiosks in Best Buy and Futureshops sites by spring, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
