It didn’t take long after Grand Theft Auto V (our review) came to the PC that mods began to trickle out, making the best version of GTA V even better. After all, while Valve might underestimate the importance of mods, many gamers do not.
Nonetheless, despite the fact that the game hasn’t even been out for a full two months yet, the modding scene has progressed enough to allow someone to begin porting over the entirety of GTA: Vice City‘s map to the latest engine. Below is a 12 minute video tour of the map as it exists so far, as well as a few screenshots in case you are unable to watch the video.
This porting of Vice City‘s map is a little rough around the edges, but there’s a lot more work to be done – which is precisely why there is no download available yet.
More than anything, what this teaser proves to me is that Rockstar should really reboot Vice City. The game was simply amazing as far as I’m concerned, but it hasn’t exactly aged well, hence why a project like this is so exciting. Come on Rockstar, you know what to do!
