Looking to help businesses bridge the gap between public and private cloud, Synology released the RackStation RS3618xs earlier today. The RS3618xs is a powerful storage solution capable of filling the role of office file server, backup target, virtualization solution and through the deep Synology Package Center, so much more.
Powered by an Intel Xeon D-1521 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 ECC UDIMM RAM (expandable to 64GB), the RS3618xs offers connectivity through four built-in Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and can be expanded with PCIe 10GbE cards. Internal storage in the RS3618xs scales up to 144TB with all 12 available drive bays populated with supported 12TB drives and with the ability to connect expansion units, up to 24 more drives can be added to the storage pool for a raw storage total of an impressive 432TB.
“RS3618xs is the perfect solution for any growing business that need big, secure data storage,” says Jason Fan, Product Manager at Synology. “They can benefit from its comprehensive storage technology, including instant snapshots, SSD caching and high availability all while maintaining complete privacy and control of their data.” Speaking of business’ storage needs, like many of Synology’s other devices, the RS3618xs ships fully certified by most major hypervisors when used as an iSCSI storage solution.
Driven by Synology’s award-winning DSM operating system, the RS3618xs ships with a 5-year limited warranty and Synology Replacement Service. The NAS is set to launch on March 9, and can be preordered from Newegg for $2,599.99.
