Are you looking for an affordable, simple solution that will help upgrade the aesthetic value of your PC? Today, that’s easier than ever, as thanks to the increasing interest in PC modding, many companies are offering a countless number of DIY products that help you make your PC look its best. NZXT in particular has been offering such products for a while, and its latest offering will be tempting for anyone with a window in their chassis.
Named “Sleeved LED Kit”, the product is essentially a sleeved rope of bright LED lights. The kit comes in red, green, blue, white and orange, and 1M and 2M models are available. Our good friend and master modder Tech-Daddy has taken a couple of these kits for a spin, so what are his thoughts?
You can read his full review at the URL below, but overall, he’s left fairly impressed with NZXT’s offering. There are a couple of catches, but depending on your chassis and preferences, they might not matter. TD does stress that the 1M cable isn’t going to stretch around an entire mid-tower chassis, so that’s something to keep in mind if you are planning to go that route. 1M sounds long, but it’s not in this case (no pun).
One nice thing is that the kit offers three levels of brightness, and coupled with the fact that it’s easy to install and affordable ($15 for the 2M version), it looks to be a great option for those interested in spicing up their chassis.
All in all, the colors were very nice, the LED’s matched (same color temperature through out), the ability to set the brightness was a nice feature, and the pricing cant be beat. The solution allows the novice modder to get good color saturation into a case be it a small/ mini case using a 1 meter run, or a mid tower with a 2 meter length without using a concentrated location light like a cold cathode. Plus, the consume very little power, and have an extraordinarily long lifespan.
