The Twelve Days to Techgage’s Contest

I can’t believe it, but Techgage turns the big “5” next month. That’s right! The site officially launched on March 1, 2005, alongside our first two pieces of content (Logitech’s RumblePad 2 and Logisys’ Janus Chassis). That was close to 850 pieces of content ago, so as you could imagine, sometimes it’s really hard to recall all of the content we’ve published over the years. Even now I still stumble on content I forgot all about, to which I give myself a smack in the head, a la “I could have had a V8!”.

In all seriousness, though, we’ve had an incredible five years, and I couldn’t be more proud of where the site is today. We have a dedicated and very talented team, and I can assure you, the best is yet to come. I can’t wait to see what the next five years holds, and I welcome you all to experience it with us!

To help us properly usher in our fifth year, we’re going to be once again offering a grand prize of a sweet gaming PC. Like some other birthday contests we’ve had in the past, this PC will be fully custom-built by us, using brand-new components provided to us by our wonderful sponsors. These are components that we chose, and were not chosen for us, so the entire PC will scream quality and absolutely have our approval as being a kick-ass build.

As of today, our contest is 12 days away. It will launch on March 1, and run the entire span of the month. To help give a preview of what will be in the finished PC, we’re going to post pictures of each component that will be used in a thread, one per day, along with peripherals we’re going to include. Due to the amount of stuff we’ll be packing in, some days will have more than one component, so we’re cheating a little, but oh well!

The contest is going to be open to only the USA and Canada (sans Quebec), as per the usual. To enter, a site survey will need to be filled out, in order for us to “gage” our strengths and also see where we need to improve. Also, while we won’t show them in this thread, the PC will include a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and Nero 9 Reloaded. Also, we’ll be holding smaller contests throughout the month, for even more chances to win!
