At Computex in June, Thermaltake revealed its plans to bring do-it-yourself water cooling kits to market, under the “Pacific” name. We haven’t heard much about it since then, but this past weekend, the company’s main man marketing manager Shannon Robb posted a couple of teaser pics to his Facebook. I am not sure about you, but I definitely wouldn’t mind some bright orange fluid running through my PC’s veins.
The fact that Thermaltake would commit to bringing a product like Pacific to market really highlights its love for the PC. All-in-one liquid coolers are a dime a dozen, and even we have told you time and time again that they’re fine for the vast majority of people. Clearly, the market for DIY kits is niche, and not one that’s likely to be a major revenue earner. So I commend the company for actually going through with the product – sold as an entire kit, it might even force me to finally stop being lazy and integrate a proper loop into my own rig.
I won’t jump to conclusions, but given these teaser pics, I can’t imagine that the announcement for Pacific is too far off (but whether that’s weeks or a couple of months… it’s hard to guess.)
What do you think?
