Thermaltake has announced the birth of a new line of PC chassis, the “Urban” series, with the introduction of the Urban S21. The new line marks a noteworthy departure for Thermaltake. Known primarily for flamboyantly-styled products such as the Level 10 and its various gaming-oriented chassis such as those that belong to the Chaser line, the Urban series of cases will feature a much more subdued design ethic. As the company itself says, the series “has a simple and elegant aesthetic look.”
Judging by its initial offering, the company’s description is quite apt. The S21 features a brushed metal front door panel, which goes a long way towards lending a clean and sophisticated appearance. The case’s beveled edges, discreet branding, all-black color scheme, and a smoothly-integrated top-mounted I/O cluster also further reinforce the new Urban series’ devotion to simplicity and elegance.
The S21 boasts other features too, including tool-less storage drive retention mechanisms, cable management holes with rubber grommets, two pre-installed 120mm fans (front intake + rear exhaust), three optional 120mm fan mounting positions (side panel, top, and bottom), two USB 3.0 ports, and seven expansion slots.
Thermaltake’s new Urban S21 and the rest of the Urban series make their debut this month. No MSRP has been announced.
