When I first caught a glimpse of the press release for Tt eSPORTS’ POSEIDON Z Forged gaming mech, I figured it’d look just like the original POSEIDON Z, but with an aluminum chassis. Well, I was half-right.
With its all-aluminum body, Tt eSPORTS’ POSEIDON Z Forged looks similar to Corsair’s Vengeance series, although unlike that one, the keys on Tt’s model are a little bit recessed into its faceplate.
The Forged features a standard layout with the addition of five macro keys on both sides. A total of five macro profiles can be used, and these can be switched during gameplay via the “Instant Shift System” – which is a fancy way of saying you can use Shift, Ctrl, or Alt, in conjunction with another key (presumably a number), to switch.
In addition to 5-way adjustable blue backlighting, the Forged includes a built-in USB hub (2x 2.0 ports), as well as an audio card to allow you to plug a headset straight into the keyboard itself. It also features a love-it-or-hate-it removable USB cable (I admit that I actually do like these).
If you’re interested in picking up the POSEIDON Z Forged, prepare to wait until next month, and keep $140 handy.
