Well, this is quite the thing to happen. The launch of Batman: Arkham Knight has been such a mess on the PC, that publisher Warner Bros. has decided to suspend sales until key problems are worked out.
We reported earlier this week that the game ships with a setting that pegs the FPS to 30, but as it turns out, that’s the least of the game’s problems. General instability has been a major one, and it’s been said if you do uncap the framerate, the game runs even worse. This is even worse than AC Unity‘s launch problems.
WB pleads with those who bought the game to hold out and wait for fixes, although it goes on to mention that refunds can be requested if the game was purchased through Steam. It’s not clear if this game becomes a special case where the 2-hour playtime limit doesn’t apply, but if you want a refund, it’s worth pursuing anyway – especially since the game is no longer listed at the site.
“The Batman: Arkham fans have continually supported the franchise to its current height of success, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work to deliver an updated version of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC so you can all enjoy the final chapter of the Batman: Arkham series as it was meant to be played.”
If only game publishers cared as much about their customers as the customers care about these franchises.
