Contest #4 – "A Product That Sucked"
We want your dirty laundry for this one. The contest is simple, because just about everyone has been in this situation at one time or another. The task is an easy one — write 200 – 500 words describing your experiences with a tech product that you purchased and wound up hating. Whether it was a product that simply didn’t work, worked poorly or burst into flames, we want to hear about it. (Especially if it’s funny.)
Write in a professional style; no cursing allowed. Spelling and grammar count here, just as they do in the professional world. Style and flair count for a lot as do good use of the English language and good grammar. Remember, the best work wins, so get writing and good luck!
The winner of this contest gets to choose between an ASUS Crosshair AM2 or ASUS Commando 775 board!
Rules: Contest is open to visitors in the USA, Canada and Europe. Duration runs between April 02, 12:00AM EST to April 17, 12:00AM EST. Forum membership is required for verification of e-mail address and contest entry submission. You will never receive e-mails from our forums. Additional rules can be found in the contest thread.
Contest #3 – "Funniest Game Screenshots" (Winner TBA)
We have all experienced being struck funny by something in a game that led to non-stop laughter. We are looking for screenshots of whatever it was that made you LOL for real. Of course, everyone should be able to understand what’s funny about the picture… not just yourself.
There are numerous examples of what could be considered funny:
- Corpses floating in the air as opposed to lying on the ground where they should be
- Groups of dancing naked people in your favorite MMO
- Using in-game money to draw or spell out something on the ground
The winner of this contest will not win only a single prize, but all of the above! These include the Tarantula keyboard, DeathAdder mouse and their Barracuda HP1 headset!
Rules: Contest is open to visitors in the USA, Canada and Europe. Duration runs between March 14, 12:00AM EST to March 31, 11:59PM EST. Forum membership is required for verification of e-mail address and contest entry submission. You will never receive e-mails from our forums. Additional rules can be found in the contest thread.
We want to see the very worst of the worst computer cases currently in use. Whether you’ve botched a case mod and never repaired it, or your case has survived a fall off its desk, or it’s held together with duct tape, or else it’s just mind-numbingly bland, we want to know why we should give you a shiny new silver Thermaltake Armor case.
Post your photo entries in the contest thread for all to see, with a maximum of two entries per entrant. Then we’ll narrow the entries down to five finalists, and randomly select one of those five as the contest winner.
The winner of this contest will win a gorgeous silver Armor case from Thermaltake. Included are 11 5.25″ drive bays, plenty of fans, blue LEDs and a built-in drive bay accessory box. You can read a lot more about the case and see our evaluations in our review here.
Rules: Contest is open to visitors in the USA and Canada. Duration runs between March 8, 12:00AM EST to March 31, 11:59PM EST. Forum membership is required for verification of e-mail address and contest entry submission. You will never receive e-mails from our forums. Additional rules can be found in the contest thread.
Contest #1 – "Guess That Game" (
BlindMonk is the winner!)
When throwing together your "uber" gaming rig, you look for performance parts. Mindblowing graphic cards, beefy power supply, fast hard drives and of course, OCZ performance memory. Yes, OCZ has become a name that’s synonymous with the words “gaming” and “performance” so only makes sense to offer up a kit of killer ram!
Up for grabs is their 2GB PC2-6400 gaming kit equipped with the brand new Flex XLC heatspreaders. These spreaders are unique in that they allow you to hook up water cooling directly to them, whether it be for quiet operation, overclocking, or both! If you don’t have a water cooling setup, don’t worry. The kit functions as any other even if you choose not to use water.
The theme of this contest is obviously gaming. Inside of our thread we give you 20 screenshots from various games that span over the past 20 years. There are some there from many genres, so very knowledgeable gamers will excel here! Guess as many as you can (doesn’t have to be all 20) and submit your answers to us.
