Note: This contest is now over and the prizes will be allocated to the respective winners over the next few days. Stay tuned!

March 1, 2005 marked the launch date of Techgage, and we plan to celebrate it’s first birthday right! There are three seperate contests that’s you can enter, with over 25 prizes to give away. Check it out.. there’s something for everyone!

All three contests will run from March 1 – March 31. Prizes will be allocated to their winners within a few days of the contest closure.

Note: All of these contests require you to sign up in our forums so *please* make sure that you provide your proper e-mail address. If you win, we will not be able to contact you if you supplied a false e-mail.

A year is quite a long time to go without a site slogan or tag line, so it’s your job to invent one for us! The rules are simple… invent a tag line or slogan that suits the site. You cannot choose a tag line that’s already being used by another website.. period. Some quick examples could be: "Techgage — Think Tech", "Techgage — Keeping you updated in this tech age" or "Boldly going where no tech site has gone before!"

tag line also tag·line
1) An ending line, as in a play or joke, that makes a point.

2) An often repeated phrase associated with an individual, organization, or commercial product; a slogan.

So, if you think you have a good tag line/slogan, post in this thread! You don’t need a specific number of posts to enter. Sign up and post… it’s that easy. All the tag lines will be ‘lined’ up and the best one will be chosen by the Techgage staff. Whoever creates one that we choose to use, will win the Corsair memory. We will then pick our second and third favorite and those people will be awarded with their respective prize.

1# – Corsair 2GB PC4000 Platinum

This is one wicked kit of memory, and is my personal favorite from the past year. It’s physically light memory that’s easy to cool, and it overclocks like a dream! At 3.2v, I managed to bring my kit of memory to 284MHz and it cleared through benchmarks like a dream. These modules received a perfect score, and I had this to say, “What bad can be said about these modules? Not a damn thing. Not only do these modules perform way better than I had hoped, they come in at a fantastic price as well. Sure, they don’t have the pizzazz as the Pro series with lights, but these modules are solid.”

2# – Vantec AVOX

I’ll let the PR speak for this one, “The AVOX Jukebox is easiest way to turn your 2.5″ notebook hard drive into a portable audio/video player. With a simple to use interface, the AVOX|Jukebox can play movies, music, or a slide show of your pictures when connected to AV inputs on any television.” This product even doubles as a regular HDD enclosure and is a great way to make your data mobile.

3# – Logisys Yin Yang Case

This is by far one of the nicest looking cases I have personally owned. You really have to see this in front of you in order to appreciate how beautiful it is. It’s two tone, green and clear, and looks fantastic at night when it’s all lit up. There’s sufficient ventilation available so that you do not need to worry about your PC overheating while being in this case. I had this to say about the case, “This is a case that I would definitely recommend. It’s extremely solid and well-built. It provides great airflow and looks great in the dark!”

With the site growing at a steady rate, we want to make sure we provide you with what you want to see. Head over to our forums, and post just that! We want your opinions on what you would like to see on the site, whether it be higher quality articles, more linux related articles, some kind of database, better layout.. etcetera. We welcome any constructive criticism, because we want to continue to be a valuable technology resource! You can win this contest simply by posting your comments in the related thread. If you post comments or suggestions there, your name will be thrown into the proverbial hat, and a random number generator will be used to pick the winner.

Neosurge has been our loyal host since way before the site opened, and I have been extremely pleased with their service to date! If you win this contest, Neosurge will give you a lifetime free hosting account! You will be able to use the account for whatever you want, whether it be for a personal site, forums or your own content site. “Our company has been built from the ground up to provide superior hosting options for all levels of customers (personal sites to high end e-commerce platforms). From our free software selections, top quality data center with high-performance web servers and experienced technical support, Neosurge is the premier choice for your web hosting needs.”

This contest is so easy, that even your little sister could do it! We have some great looking forums [jedi mind trick] and we wonder why they are not more popular! This is a simple contest… sign up to our forums and help them become more lively. In order to qualify in the contest, you must make a minimum of 20 non-spam messages and then post in our related contest thread. It’s *that* easy.

Crucial Gizmo! 1GB Thumb Drive

If you don’t have a thumb drive by now, you are a complete loser. Of course I am joking, but man are they useful! Back in the day, we awarded Crucials thumb drive a perfect score. It’s a great package overall, and it’s 1GB size gives you a lot of freedom to bring your stuff on the go. “After using the USB device I have to say I’m impressed and hooked, and love using the small device. It is so much easier for me to plug it into my PC, upload a ton of images that I couldn’t normally hold on floppy, and take them anywhere with me to share.”

Diskeeper 10 Professional Premier – 5 Copies

Diskeeper is the industry standard disk defragger, and is the only product of it’s kind to be approved by Microsoft. We recently took a look at the latest version, and here’s what we had to say, “Diskeeper 10 Professional Premier is one very nice piece of software. The product is also very user friendly, it offers a very nicely done guided method and a easy right click and shoot method for more advanced users.” In the end, the software received a well deserved perfect score!

Note: If you become a winner of this product, we can either give you a downloadable link or ship you a boxed copy.

Logisys Computer – 3 Products

Logisys produces some great modding supplies, and have supplied us with some to give away! First up is their multi-function panel, which you can see on their site here. They have also supplied us with a very unique keyboard, which uses cool blue LED’s beneath the keys and can even cooperate with your cell phone! Check out their site to read more on it. Lastly, they are supplying us with a CCFL kit so that you can spice up your PC!

Note: If you win any of these prizes, you can choose whichever color you would like.

Logitech G7 Mouse

Are you a gamer with a wired mouse but desire to go wireless? That’s where the Logitech G7 comes into play. This mouse has all the good stuff, Polytetrafluoroethylene feet, a 2000DPI engine, two fast swap battery packs, sensitivity changing and more. We haven’t previously looked at this mouse before, but it looks superb, as most Logitech products are ;)

OCZ 1GB Gold XTC PC-3200

How can you not like modules with such a wicked heatsink design? It’s funny, the Gold series is equivalent to ‘Value’ as OCZ reminds me, but I was still able to overclock to 240MHz while keeping stock timings and only using 3.0v! That’s some seriously kick ass value modules if I do say so myself. I had this to conclude the review with, “These modules are extremely stable. I received 0 errors from a 12 hour MemTest run, at 240HTT, 3.0v and 2-2-2-5 timings. OCZ really pushes these modules as being ‘value’, so this type of performance is more than worth the money that you may pay for them.”

OCZ 1GB Gold XTC PC2-5400

So, from what I understand, there are actually people out there who use DDR2! Well here’s a great kit that you will want to get your hands on. Rolling in at DDR2-733 speeds, my personal kit overclocked to DDR2-825 with fairly tight timings. The overall performance definitely impressed me; I had this to say, “If you are in the market for a 1GB kit, then you cannot go wrong with this one. The overclocking ability was very good, especially since OCZ consider the Gold series to be ‘value’ modules.”

Steganos Internet Anonym 2006 – 5 Copies

Internet Anonym is one of the best ways to keep yourself anonymous while surfing the net. IA will first deliver your requested web page to their personal servers and then forward it to you, which makes you technically invisible. What makes the product unique though, is that it will show you what server you are connected to, and point it out on the map. In addition, the product includes an Internet Trace destructor and more.

Note: If you become the winner of this product, you will be provided with a download link and serial key.

Steganos Security Suite 2006 – 5 Copies

The SSS is an all in one security suite that I use all the time. It includes numerous tools including Safe, Portable Safe, Private Favorites (Think porn), E-mail Encryption, File Manager, Anti-Theft (For your laptop) and much more. This is a great package overall, but if there was any reason to want to win this product, it’s definitely because of the Safe and Portable Safe!

Note: If you become the winner of this product, you will be provided with a download link and serial key.

Thermaltake – 5 Products

Thermaltake was kind enough to throw a few prizes at us. First up is their Xaserbag which allows you to carry your PC around with you easily. Next up is their StarForce CPU fan, which will simply replace the fan on your stock cooler. You can read more about it here. We have two of the StarForce fans to give away. Lastly, TT gave us two of their Polo 735 CPU coolers, which you can read more on here. They are compatible with both Intel and AMD systems.

Vantec AVOX

I’ll let the PR speak for this one, “The AVOX Jukebox is easiest way to turn your 2.5″ notebook hard drive into a portable audio/video player. With a simple to use interface, the AVOX|Jukebox can play movies, music, or a slide show of your pictures when connected to AV inputs on any television.” This product even doubles as a regular HDD enclosure and is a great way to make your data mobile.
