This past summer, ASUS released one of the most beautiful all-in-one PCs I’ve ever seen. It was almost apt that it was called the Zen AiO. When many think of AIOs, though, one of the first thingsĀ that can come to mind is lacking performance. After all, there’s only going to be so much heat that’s allowed to run through an AIO’s interior.
Lest we forget, though, that hardware continues to become more energy-efficient over time, as well as faster. For that reason, the Zen AiO hardly felt like a slouch, especially with its ability to pack an Intel Core i7 processor under its hood.
Well, reception to that PC must’ve been quite good, because ASUS has now followed-up with a “Pro” model. This one offers much of the same specs of the original, but piles on some other nice features, such as the ability to opt for a 4K display.
The Zen AiO Pro comes in a 23.8-inch form-factor, and if 4K isn’t needed, it can be had as a 1080p model instead. AIO it might be, but this one packs a serious punch. Yet again, it can use up to an Intel Core i7 processor (6700T), utilize NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 960M, sport up to 32GB of DDR4 memory, and come with a bunch of different storage options, including a 512GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 solid-state drive.
One of this PC’s standout features is its 2 megapixel camera. Yes, I really said that, but there’s a reason: it boasts IntelĀ RealSense support. That will allow you to capture the environment in 3D, and let you potentially use a variety of gestures should games support it. For further immersion, the Zen AiO Pro scatters 6 speakers around its frame, for a total of 16W of throughput.
Perhaps also worthy of note since it’s a bit slow to catch on: USB-C is also supported on the Zen AiO Pro. Other ports include 4x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0, a microphone and headphone jack, SD/MMC card reader, dual HDMI ports, an Ethernet port, as well as a Kensington slot – perfect if you want to use this thing for LAN parties. With the package, ASUS also includes a keyboard and mouse that matches the same icicle gold color of the AIO itself.
Pricing for the Zen AiO Pro starts at $999. ASUS notes that select configurations are available now, with more due soon.
