At the ongoing Computex trade show in Taipei, ASUS has announced one of its most inevitable products: a Transformer Pad Infinity powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 4. According to the company, this upcoming tablet accelerates the hottest technologies, such as WebGL, HTML5, and 4K video playback – and of course, it touts amazing battery-life as well.
We’ve talked about Tegra 4 on multiple occasions before, what with its 72 cores and promises of being up to 6x faster than Tegra 3, so let’s take a look at what ASUS has done with its upcoming Infinity.
The actual CPU core clock isn’t given, but we can see that the new Infinity is built inside the same 10.1 form-factor. With its graphics capabilities boost, it’s no surprise to also see the resolution bumped – from 1920×1200 to 2560×1600. It’ll also include 2GB of RAM, 5/1.2MP rear / front cameras, USB 3.0 port (built right into the tablet? Bring it on!), SD card slot, dual-band WiFi (up to 802.11n), Bluetooth 3.0 and 32GB of internal storage.
Unfortunately, neither pricing or a shipping date have been unveiled. What I can tell you for sure, though, is that I want one. You?
