Corsair Expands Crystal Chassis Lineup With Two New Models, Ushers In New Budget Champion

When Corsair announced its HARPOON RGB mouse and K55 RGB keyboard a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that if you’re ever in need of new peripherals, Corsair’s overwhelming selection is bound to have something “perfect” for you. Well, the same goes for the company’s chassis lineup, something that’s reaffirmed today with the release of three new models.

Corsair released the first chassis in its Crystal series a couple of months ago, and with its tempered glass aesthetic, it was downright beautiful. The 460X RGB follows in that chassis footsteps with an obvious addition: RGB LEDs. The 570X RGB is more of the same – it’s just larger. Both chassis are mid-towers and are designed for motherboards ATX-sized and smaller.

The third chassis above is the Carbide 270R, a budget option that looks like anything but a budget option. This chassis comes in two forms, with one of them including a window. That particular version also includes a bonus fan, a red LED AF120, which comes in addition to a black AF120. Despite its value proposition, the 270R comes complete with good cable-routing capabilities and a good airflow design.

The biggest of these new chassis is the 570X RGB, and it’s the only one that has four tempered glass sides – the sides, the top, and the front. The 460X RGB, by contrast, has tempered glass on the front and one side. Both chassis include 3x SP120 fans as well as a built-in controller. A notable omission from the 460X is a bright Corsair logo that shines up at the bottom of the 570X – a nice touch.

One thing’s for sure: I’d love to introduce one of these Crystal chassis in our lab for one of our test systems. I’ve quickly become a huge fan of the tempered glass look, and I think Corsair has implemented it beautifully across all three of its Crystal chassis released so far.

We’re not sure on pricing for two of these chassis right now, but the 460X RGB can be had for about $140. This post will be updated as soon as we’re hit with pricing for the other two chassis.
