If you’ve been intrigued by Destiny 2 since its launch, but haven’t been able to pull the trigger, EVGA has some temptation to throw your way. That assumes you’re in need of a brand-new graphics card, that is, for any model GTX 1060 and higher. The starting point being a GTX 1060 is great to see, because these offers all-too-often require the top-tier cards to be purchased.
The best part of this promotion is that the gift includes not only the base game, but also its Expansion Pass, which includes the first two DLCs: Curse of Osiris and Warmind!. It does not include the upcoming Forsaken expansion, but there’s a huge amount of content to be had from what’s included with these GPUs. By the time you clear that initial content, then you’ll probably feel the pull to haul out that wallet and snatch up the newest content.
The least-expensive GPU that can net you this deal over at Newegg is the SSC edition GTX 1060 6GB, at $330. Moving up, we hit the GTX 1070 SC2 iCX for $410. I’d recommend this over the GTX 1060 if 1440p or ultrawide is your goal. That’s not based on Destiny 2 in particular though, because that game could run just fine on a GTX 1060 at 1440p, but most modern games won’t fare so well.
Moving up again, we come to the GTX 1070 Ti, priced at $470, and the GTX 1080 GAMING ACX for $500. For the top-end, there’s the GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition, priced at $780. The only concern I would have about going really high-end right now is that NVIDIA is rumored to be releasing new GPUs next month, and that very well could be the reason EVGA has decided to put this promotion on. Your choice is to adopt a great GPU now, or wait and hope the rumors are true (and not have a new GPU for the next month).
You can hit up EVGA’s website if Newegg doesn’t do it for you, as more etailers are listed there. Sadly, Amazon is not included in the batch of names.
