Black Friday is here, and that means that retail looks like a madhouse, and etail servers are being given a great stress. As we did yesterday, we pored the web over today to find some of the best deals. We’re talking deals that actually have some substantial savings, not a meager cut that barely makes it feel like a sale.
Once again, clicking any of these links and buying anything (not even the item linked to) will help support the website, so if you want to do that, there’s no easier way while you abuse your credit card. Again, this is not meant to be an exhaustive list… we’re only including deals we think are worthwhile. If we end up finding some more great deals as the day goes on, we’ll add them in.
PC Hardware
We need to start this off the same way we did it yesterday: with AMD’s $199 Radeon RX 580 (Amazon or Newegg). That’s a great gaming card for the money, but the value is enhanced further when you get two free games with it, from this collection: Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2, and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. Another great deal is the $400 Radeon RX Vega 64 (Newegg). That cost includes all three of the games mentioned before, so yet again, the price before is good, but it becomes amazing after that bundle.
For NVIDIA fans, we found an RTX 2070 from EVGA over at Amazon for under the SRP, to sit at $485. That’s a savings of at least $95, and would be a good choice if you are looking for some great value on the NVIDIA side. You don’t get three free games, but you do get at least one: Battlefield V.
For cheaper SSDs that are well worth your time, WD has both a SATA and an NVMe M.2 Blue drive at $70 for 500GB. For 1TB, how does a Samsung 860 EVO at $128 sound? Unfortunately, standout deals on NVMe drives seem to be elusive right now. The 2TB $250 Intel 660p listed yesterday on Newegg is gone. No surprise!
Other interesting storage devices we found include a 256GB SanDisk Cruzer flash drive for $35, with the 128GB going for an impressive $17.
For some real storage, there’s a range of internal and desktop drives on sale as well. One such sale is the 2TB external Seagate, mobile-sized, for $60. For a bit more, you can upgrade to the desktop variant for $80, but admittedly, much larger densities are probably going to suit you better. What about a $350 drive offering 12TB?
Sadly, deals on drives anywhere in between that seem to be scarce, or non-existent. Well, at least for internal: you can also get an 8TB external for $130. Sometimes, if you need an internal drive, they can be broken out of these enclosures, but you always want to Google search for a model before you plunk down the cash. And speaking of plunking things down, B&H Photo has another 2TB mobile drive deal: for $80, you can opt for a rugged model.
Corsair’s Hydro H100i v2 is $75 (Amazon), which represents a steep price cut of $55. The high-end K95 Platinum is $130 representing a huge $70 price cut. And, for a bit of a doozy, here’s a $30 M65 gaming mouse (or a $50 Scimitar). Surprisingly, there’s even some memory for sale: 2x8GB DDR4-3000 for $130 ($60 off), or $155 for some RGB Pro 3200MHz stuff.
ASUS also has a ton of stuff on offer over at Amazon, including its standalone USB monitor for adding extra desktop space while you’re on the go with your laptop. Unfortunately, that $105 model only supports 1366×768; the beefier 1080p model has no sale price. Nonetheless, other things to catch your eye may include a $45 AC router, a $220 27-inch 1440p 75Hz 1ms monitor, a top-end G-SYNC 165Hz 1ms of the same size for $450, and a reliable (but not AC) N wireless adapter for $16.50.
Another monitor worth checking out is the $330 ViewSonic 4K 27-inch. We have an extremely similar monitor that we use for all of our 16:9 game testing, and have had no complaints about it at all (knock on wood). Unfortunately, this deal requires Amazon Prime.
The popular Blue Yeti microphones (which we largely use around here) is again on sale, for $90. The upside with those mics is that whenever you decide to jump on board, there’s bound to be brand-new color schemes to hop on. For other aural needs, Logitech has its G933 Artemis Spectrum headset on sale for $99 – representing a massive $100 cut. In the same Logitech vein, there’s also a knock-out deal on the M510 wireless notebook mouse, at just $14. The company’s really good MX Master 2S is also found for $65, which is $35 off.
On the motherboard front, there’s not really too much out there. One to catch our eye is ASUS’ B350 Republic of Gamers AMD Ryzen board, priced at $85, representing a $40 cut. An even less expensive MSI Tomahawk board can be hard for $70, representing a $30 cut. Intel boards with great deals seem to be nonexistent at Amazon, but Newegg has a bunch, but sadly, the best deals seem to be for pre-Coffee Lake boards (eg: Z270).
