Bigger is better, right? Lamptron sure thinks so and has just announced the launch of its FC9 fan controller to try and prove it. This controller promises to be able to handle just about anything that users can throw at it, and then some.
It features the same CNC milled silver or black anodized aluminum face plate that has become something of a calling card for the company. It also uses slides rather than knobs to adjust the fan speed and also allows for a bit of personalization by allowing users to select one of seven colors to act as LED back lighting.
What’s more impressive is the incredible 50 watts of power that each of the four channels provide. To put that into perspective, I once watched a YouTube video where someone daisy-chained four high-CFM Deltas together – and it managed a measly power-draw of 30W. At 30W, even Lamptron’s own FCT and FC8 are suitable, both of which I’ve had the pleasure to test out.
If the FC9 is anything like its little brothers, this one could be a monster but as usual there’s no word on pricing and availability at this time.
