NVIDIA Adds Achievements To VR Funhouse, Releases Holiday Themed Mod

Given the season, it’s just about guaranteed that there are going to be a lot of new VR owners soon, so to that end, NVIDIA has continued to update its tech demo / game VR Funhouse to keep it relevant, and enticing. The latest update might be its biggest yet – or, it will at least will give you the biggest reason to pick it up again.

That reason is achievements. To give players a reason to continue playing VR Funhouse, NVIDIA has added an impressive number of achievements to the game – 45, to be exact. At quick glance, most of these will be naturally earned as you play, although some will require a bit of skill and patience (eg: get a score of 35 without missing a shot).

A couple of months ago, NVIDIA opened up modding capabilities in VR Funhouse, and today, the company unveils its own mod, to help keep the holiday spirit alive. Called Winter Wonderland!, this mod coats all of VR Funhouse with a fresh coat of paint – err, snow, and other seasonal eye candy. To use the mod, simply hit up that link and hit +Subscribe.

If you’re a VR content developer and would like to work with VR Funhouse, you have a couple of alluring options. Going on right now, there’s a mod contest that will see three people walk away with a beefy check and a sweet graphics card. If you’re not quite ready to create your own content for the game, you might instead be interested in a developer stream that NVIDIA is about to kick off, beginning tomorrow (16th) at 1PM PST.
