When we checked in with NVIDIA’s GRID service two months ago, it had 38 titles to its name, with 40 being the target for early March. Since then, NVIDIA has continued to stick to its promise of delivering a new game each week, with Strider becoming the 47th title.

I remember spending many hours playing Strider for the NES many moons ago, and I admit I had no idea that it had been treated to a 2014 iteration, but I’m pleased to see that Capcom has remained involved so that it could (hopefully) live up to the original. It goes without saying that I will be giving the game a try on NVIDIA GRID soon.
NVIDIA also lets us know that its 48th and 49th game have already been chosen; LEGO Movie the Videogame is next, and Dirt 3: The Complete Edition (which came out just a few weeks ago), will come after that.
If you’re a GRID user who lives in the US Southwest and have found performance to be a bit lacking, you’ll now be able to connect to a dedicated server in your region, which you should be able to set by going into the settings of the SHIELD Hub app, and then selecting GRID.
GRID is still set to come out of beta at the end of June, with subscriptions promised to become available before the transition. We’re still not sure what subscription costs will look like, but considering the fact that Jen-Hsun Huang name-dropped Netflix and Spotify at the SHIELD Console launch, I’d bet that pricing will be comparable to those services. It won’t be much longer before we’ll find out for sure.
