As news from Gamescom begins to flood the web, NVIDIA thought it’d contribute as well with its own onslaught of announcements. If you’re a fan of HDR, or any of NVIDIA’s technologies such as Ansel, SLI, and ShadowPlay Highlights, there’s probably something for you here.
At the forefront, ShadowPlay Highlights infuses one of the most popular games on the planet: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. With this feature enabled, your PC will be able to automatically record important gameplay moments, probably without you even noticing until it’s all over and done with. If it’s anything like the recently released Lawbreakers, you should also be able to adjust the rules so that you don’t wind up with footage you’d never wanted in the first place. In addition to Highlights, PUBG will also soon support NVIDIA’s HBAO+ for improved shadows.
Some GeForce love is heading towards Bungie’s upcoming Destiny 2, as well, with two awesome features supported: HDR, and SLI. The SLI one really surprises me, mostly because of the game’s origins on consoles. Now if only a 3440×1440 144Hz monitor could make a grand entrance!
Here’s another one I didn’t see coming: Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 will soon support NVIDIA’s robust screenshot tool, Ansel. This will mark the first time a sports title has bundled the feature, although its use might be a bit limited, considering Ansel is generally disabled during online play. It will be useful, however, to pose your favorite footy stars to your liking, and then snap their action photos in iconic stadiums.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is going to be gifted the Ansel feature as well, in addition to HDR. And last, but not least, Final Fantasy XV, is going to pack a lot of NVIDIA goodness in: Flow, HairWorks, ShadowWorks, Turf Effects, and even the voxel-based ambient occlusion mode VXAO. If that’s not enough, the game will also feature ShadowPlay Highlights and Ansel. Talk about the full monty.
