We wrote just earlier that NVIDIA released its first WHQL driver for Windows 10 over the weekend, and now, just in time for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the company’s rolled out another one, this time for Windows 8 and earlier.
GeForce 352.86’s main focus is The Witcher 3, so if you’re not going to be playing the game, you can skip right on over this one. Using this driver will enable the best performance for the game, and adds an SLI profile.
While there’s been a lot of controversy about CD Projekt RED pulling back on the graphics detail in Wild Hunt, NVIDIA’s latest guide proves that regardless of what’s happened between then and now, the game looks drop-dead gorgeous. It also takes advantage of PhysX and Hairworks, technologies showcased in this video:
Based on NVIDIA’s own performance results, a seriously high-end PC is going to be needed to max out Wild Hunt at 4K. With two TITAN X cards, and max detail (including Hairworks), you can expect to get about 44 FPS. Of course, there are myriad of tweaking options available, so regardless of your rig, if it’s recent, you should be able to get playable framerates at 1440p and definitely 1080p without killing the visual fidelity.
I am going to jump to conclusions and say that Wild Hunt will probably be in our next GPU test suite update.
