NVIDIA sure doesn’t mess around. I wouldn’t have even thought that it’d be possible to release a WHQL driver for an unreleased OS, but it is, and NVIDIA decided to capitalize on it. GeForce 352.84 becomes the first official stable driver from NVIDIA for Windows 10, and as such, there are no release notes. I’d imagine that this driver is almost identical to the GTA V Game Ready driver, 350.12, released last month.
NVIDIA’s taken advantage of this release to pat itself on the back for a couple of things. To start, it touts the fact that over the past year-and-a-half, it’s had a Game Ready GeForce driver for every single major PC game release, and looking at the list below, I can’t argue that. If you see a major game missing, speak up!
NVIDIA touts Game Ready drivers for all major game releases
The company also highlights the fact that its GPUs have been relied-upon for a bunch of different demos. At GDC 2014, GeForce was used to showcase a DirectX 12 version of Forza 5, which was followed-up to with a DX12 demo of Fable Legends at GDC 2015. At last month’s Build conference, GeForce was used to showcase Square Enix’s WITCH – Chapter 0 [cry] demo, as well as King of Wushi, a title set for release in China.
With Windows 10’s release right around the corner, things are beginning to get exciting. I have been wanting to update our GPU test suite, but given the timing, I am likely to just wait until Windows 10 drops, because as it appears right now, it looks to be very stable at launch, especially on the graphics driver front. That is, if AMD has a WHQL for launch, which I’d imagine would be the case.
