I have to admit something I’m not proud of. Up to this point, I haven’t played a Thief game. I know, I know… foolish. Appalling. Unfortunately, I could have said the exact same thing about Deus Ex when the third game in the series, Human Revolution,showed-up. However, much like how I ended up realizing what an epic series Deus Ex was, I expect that things will play out much the same with Thief.
If there’s one element of gaming that’s underdone in gaming (in the right way), it’s stealth. That’s an aspect that most fans of Thief tend to enjoy – or maybe even have to enjoy, so if Eidos Montreal manages to deliver a quality game with the upcoming Thief game like it did with Deus Ex: Human Revolution last year, I think fans are going to be very, very pleased. Check out the trailer:
Nothing short of incredible. Some fans have complained that the voice actor from the original games doesn’t make a reappearance here, which is definitely understandable. Hopefully the gameplay will help overshadow that caveat – judging by the trailer, it certainly has the potential to.
Thief is due out sometime in 2014 and has been confirmed so far for the PC and PS4.
